Five Things
It's Sunday again! Already.

This Saturday I did something really weird. I went to the city where I went to highschool and met a whole bunch of old people. We all got our degree 30 years ago. And by looking at the other people, I think I really did age well. :) So this was a good evening for my self-esteem. But I also have to admit that I don’t remember all of the people in the group and that I probably also hugged a few random bystanders, just because I didn’t want look arrogant. I can’t wait to meet again in 30 years time! Seriously, this was fun and it was great to catch up.
Also I finally did my first run in over 4 weeks as I first had a break due to COVID-19 and then I had some weird foot pain that I neglected for a while and then finally got some treatment - and my doc always talks about me not getting any younger and this almost always results in me signing up for another stupid race so that I have a goal that I want to achieve and therefore force myself to go running multiple times a week instead of sleeping or drinking beer and eating chips. Then I train too much and get injured again and I think I spend more on races I don’t do then I do, but hey, it’s for a good cause. I just signed up for a nice 26 km race around the lake where my school was and still is. I ran this when the race was still young and it was still kind of awkward to run on the eastern side of the lake because this used to be East Germany and essentially no men’s land. As this run always takes place on the first Advent Sunday (which means just three more Sundays away from Christmas) and that’s why it’s called Adventslauf, rain, mud and cold winds are very probable. This is what I do for fun.
And as a side note before I stop my rambling: I’m flying to Tel Aviv next week and you are not. Sorry. But this is just one of the most wonderful places in the world and I haven’t been there for a long time and I’ll give a talk at a media conference on media innovation and startups and the rest of the time I’ll just be there and stare at all those beautiful people and try to soak in as much as I can from this amazing vibe that’s going on in this city. And the food. Don’t even get me started. Yes, I’m bragging, but I really miss business traveling and I miss Tel Aviv a lot. You guys do metaverse, I do wine and dine in amazing cities. And I’ll stare at Bauhaus.
